Starting today, Saturday April 26, 2008, there will be a Kalimaran Fest to showcase Murut culture for two days in the Murut Culture Centre in Kampung Polong, Tenom, Sabah. Visitors will get the chance to experience real Murut culture. Kalimaran means art in the Murut language.
Among activities planned are the Kalimaran Queen competition, Kalimaran concert, Murut handicraft exhibition and Murut singing competition.
Two other Murut sub-ethnic groups, the Tagol and Timugon, will present their cultural performances plus a mock wedding.
