16th WCIT (World Congress on Information Technology) in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will host the 16th WCIT (World Congress on Information Technology) from May 18 to May 22, 2008. The organizers are predicting 2,500 participants from over 80 countries to converge unto Kuala Lumpur for this "ICT Olympics". Already, according to

  3. Dr Robert Bishop, Chairman of the Blue Brain Project

  4. Dr Hamadoun Toure, Secretary-General, International Telecommunication Union

  5. Dr Robert Atkinson, Information Technology and Innovation Foundation

  6. Robert Carter of FedEx and Douglas Merrill of Google

This year, WCIT is expected to draw a large crowd as a series of related events including the United Nations Global Alliance on ICT and Development (UN-GAID), the Commonwealth Telecommunication Organization (CTO) e-government conference, the International Advisory Panel meeting for MSC Malaysia and up to 10 other related events.
