Program for Visit Malaysia Year for September and October

These are the programs planned for Visit Malaysia Year 2007 for the months of September and October:

1- 2 September 2007: Sarawak Regatta
Location: Kuching Waterfront, Sarawak

This popular event held at Kuching Waterfront is an offshoot of the Baram Regatta that was originally a contest between traditionally huge war canoes. The excitement of war –reminiscent of
bygone days is rekindled as the state’s expert boatmen take up their paddles to prove their prowess while jet-ski and kayak racing promise to add to the adrenaline-pumping action.

7 – 9 September 2007: Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix
Location: Sepang Racing Circuit, Selangor

Cheer on the world’s greatest riders in this annual event as they race to the finish on one of the fastest and most challenging tracks in motor-racing. This thrilling motorcycle race promises incredible sporting action

7 – 9 September 2007: KL International Tattoo Show
Location: Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur

The tattoo show aims to bring together foreign groups such as military forces to congregate harmoniously in Kuala Lumpur. It will be a 3 night event which involves displays of precision marching and military demonstrations for 4 hours every night. The event will bring about an opportunity for major armies of the world to converge and to participate in this spectacular show.

Location: Sabah

Dubbed ‘The world’s toughest mountain race’, this extreme sporting event sees the world’s top mountain runners racing up and down Kinabalu’s 4096 meters over a total distance of 21 km. Catch the excitement of this ultimate test of endurance as runners exert sheer will power in conquering one of Southeast Asia’s highest peaks

13 October: Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration and Open House
Location: Kuala Lumpur and throughout Malaysia

To mark the end of the fasting month of Ramadhan and the beginning of the Muslim month of Syawal, a month-long celebration is held. Abundance spread of food and delicacies are shared amongst the guests. Visitors should watch out for the many official “Open Houses” that take place during this month, many of them hosted by Ministers.

28 October – 4 November 2007: Heart of Borneo 4X4 Safari
