Newspaper PKR - new press freedom in Malaysia?

PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) can now publish its own newspaper. Malaysia new Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar have recently announced that the Malaysia government will give PRK a permit to start its own newspaper. Syed Hamid said he has just approved it.

Is this the beginning of a freer press in Malaysia? For Malaysia's sake, let us hope so.

So far, PKR has not made any announcement about this development.
